From Student, Michael Wilson:
I met you at AES in San Francisco, My name is Michael Wilson and you provided me with some life changing advice on how to become an A1. I would again just like to thank you for all the information you provided me with at the SPARS mentoring session. Before meeting with you I felt i had a firm idea on what I wanted to do with my life and my career. With the information you provided me with I now feel more confident in what I am doing and feel that i have a substantial amount of direction on what to do and look foreword to and what to work on in my potential path to success. I am humbled and honored to have met with you and have had the opportunity to have learned from you. I honestly had no idea that people in positions such as your self and Kirk were so open and willing to helping and giving back. My trip to AES was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life to date and my encounters with you was one of the greatest parts of the entire experience. I have been raving about SPARS and what you do to all that will listen. I can not put in to words of what our short mentoring session will do in the long run in my life. I owe you majorly and if there is anything I can ever do to assist you with anything please let me know. You and the group you represent provide an absolutely amazing service to people like myself and I honestly do not know if you know what it means to me and my career path. Again I thank you and I look foreword to the day I will be able to make your acquittance again.
With the most humble and sincere thanks I am grateful for you and what you do,
Received later from Michael:
I had the opportunity to meet with you and have a one on one mentoring session with you at AES San Francisco. I had spoke with you about my aspiring goal to become an A1 on sports shoots. I am writing you today to give you an update on my status since our first encounter. Prior to us meeting I had done a few live sports gigs and was just starting to get my feet wet and get some directionality in the industry, I look to our session as a point where that all changed. Post AES my career path has opened in new ways that I would not have imagined to be possible in these young stages of my career. On a regular basis I am able to see the inner workings of production trucks, working on them, getting to know the people and making my self known in the market for the best attributes I am able to put forth. I have also phased out of my cooking job to branch out into many other avenues such as event management, camera operator on a regular freelance basis, working on live television sets as well as being the production manager for many projects that I am putting together to assist my fellow student in getting hands on experience in the field. When I look back to a moment that I can say that my path turned for the better and I was able to become a student at the helm of many great opportunities, I think of many things however the most predominate one is the session I had with you. I would like to thank you for taking your time and assisting some one like me to become a better leader, professional and student, your work will not easily be forgotten. My hope is that other people in my situation were able to benefit from you the way I have. Thank You.
If I may, I would like to ask of you any other pieces of advice you are able to pass down in further helping me pursue my career path.
Thank you, with the most of gratitude,
“I would again like to thank you for all the information you provided me. I now feel more confident in what I am doing and feel that I have a substantial amount of direction on what to do and what to work on in my potential path to success.”
