Prairie Sun Recording hosts great artists like Tom Waits, AFI, Booker T. Jones, Carlos Santana and Eric Gales, to name a few. Now, it’s the Internet sensation (7,719,727 video views) Nataly Dawn, of Pomplamoose who is busy promoting her new album recorded at Prairie Sun.
“She did her basic tracking and filming for her upcoming solo album “How I Knew Her” at our studio with producer Jack Conte. Kickstarter helped fund Nataly’s project,” says owner Mark “Mooka” Rennick.
“Upon arrival at Prairie Sun, Nataly had a full camera crew and a stable of extremely talented session players,” says Rennick. In addition to Jack, who played drums on a few tracks and wrote string/horn arrangements, the session talent included guitarist Ryan Lerman (Ben Folds 5), David Piltch (Bonnie Raitt,T Bone Burnett) on upright bass, drummer Louis Cole and legendary session drummer Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam, Fiona Apple). The project was tracked by Oz Fritz in Studio C at Prairie Sun. Eric Kallevig directed the filming with assistant Mark Gamsey.
