West L.A. Music recently announced the dates for the 2011 Recording Expo. The well attended seminar and exhibit extravaganza is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, 2011. The annual expo includes exhibits by leading recording equipment manufacturers, featuring the latest recording products and technology.
Workshops and seminars are planned by top artists and noted industry professionals, including Grammy, Emmy, and Oscar winning songwriters, composers, engineers and producers.

Sound Libraries for Music and Post Production
Nick Phoenix, Quantum Leap creator, and producer of Hollywood Strings, Hollywood Brass, Storm Drums, and Voices of Passion, will discuss how to use sound libraries to improve your recordings for music, post, television and film.
The World of Film and Post Production
Film Score Engineer, Producer and Re-Recording Mixer John Ross is the founder of Digital Sound & Picture, and owner of 424 Inc., one of the world’s leading post-production facilities. His credits include sound for American History X, Sex and The City, The Butterfly Effect, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, The Fighter and The RumDiaries. John will explain his work-flow, equipment preferences, and studio setup, and discuss current trends & key drivers for success in the post-production world.
The Art of Film Scoring
Emmy and Academy Award winning composer Charles Bernstein, who has scored over 100 films including Kill Bill, Inglorious Bastards, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, will share his secrets and techniques for creating and composing music for major motion pictures.

The latest recording hardware and software will be presented with special exhibits and presentations, featuring the Pro Tools recording platform and 3rd party applications and plug-ins. An Apple classroom will offer hands on training sessions for Logic and GarageBand.
