The Audio Engineering Society Chapter of Webster University is proud to present the Fifth Annual Central Region Audio Student Summit on Friday, March 18, 2011 through Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Webster University in St. Louis, MO.
Last year was a total success, with almost 500 participants. This will be a great opportunity for students from the Central Region, some of whom cannot attend the conventions in New York or California, to mingle with their peers from other educational institutions as well as professionals. Come rub elbows with the stars and play with cool gear!
Past Summits have featured top names in the audio industry such as Phil Ramone, George Massenburg and Frank Filipetti, panel discussions and tutorials with the best in the business, exhibitors showing off cutting edge audio equipment, free music, free food, a mixing competition, and a Platinum Panel.
Panels and tutorials will be offered on such topics as Internships and Entry Level Positions, the Future of Analog, Aesthetics, Studio Ownership, Did the Internet Kill the CD Star, Women in Audio, Sound Reinforcement, Signal Processing, Restoring Vintage Gear, and Late Night Analog, to name a few. A mixing competition will be held with great prizes! The Student Summit also has recommendations for cheap local lodging.
All of these activities are included in the $25 early-bird registration fee. The Summit organizers will even throw in lunch on Saturday and breakfast both mornings!
