A Mix Webinar
Digital Converters for Today’s Studio

Date: Thursday, March 3, 2011
Time: 2:00pm ET / 11:00am PT

In a time when more and more projects are created in a multiplatform environment—such as tracking in Pro Tools, mixing in Nuendo and using Sequoia for mastering—a flexible, accurate and great-sounding digital conversion system is a must and forms the core of today’s production studio. Sponsored by Lynx Studio Technology, and hosted by Mix Technical Editor Kevin Becka, this informative webinar will explore the need for flexible multichannel digital audio conversion systems and integrating them into today’s studio.

Kevin will discuss basics of the conversion process (including understanding the clocking process), the various types of digital I/O formats (such as AES/EBU, ADAT, AES-16, AES-16e, FireWire, USB, MADI), installation requirements, monitoring/latency issues and ways of future-proofing your system. Another topic is interfacing with all of the current Mac or PC DAW systems—including Pro Tools 9, and what you’ll need, whether you’re working entirely within the box or integrating your DAW with a console and/or analog outboard gear.

Regretfully missed the coference. Is they’re an article or printed summary of this, or can I access it via the web? I need all the info I can get on this topic as I am rebuilding my business after a financial catastrophy. Thanks.
