SPARS to host AES Student Party at 133rd AES Convention
Chris Stone to receive the 2012 SPARS Legacy Award at legendary Coast Recorders
SPARS and AES are hosting a student party at the 133rd AES Convention being held in San Francisco, October 26-29, 2012. The party will take place on Saturday, October 27th from 9 pm to 11 pm at Coast Recorders.

Part of the festivities will be the formal presentation of the 2012 SPARS Legacy Award to industry pioneer, recording icon and founder of the legendary Record Plant Studios, Christopher Stone. Stone will deliver a short keynote address to the students and others present, on the importance of mentoring and education as they relate to preserving the craft of professional recording.
Michael Romanowsky, the owner of Coast Recorders and a long time fixture in the San Francisco music scene, will welcome the crowd and share some of the rich history of the facility. In addition several AES dignitaries will be attending including John Krivit, AES Education Chair , Jan Abildgaard Pedersen, AES President, Bob Moses, AES Executive Director, Gary Gottlieb, AES Governor, Jim Kaiser, AES Past President and Frank Wells, AES President Elect. Members of the SPARS Board of Directors will be on hand as well as many of the 26 industry leaders who will have participated in the expanded Ask SPARS mentoring session held earlier in the day in room RC4 in the Moscone Center.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, either at the AES Student Chapters Booth outside of the Exhibit Hall or at the first meeting of the Student Delegate Assembly.
